This is the final entry for my Year of the GM project. It’s one of the four Origin MSD GM kits revealed earlier this year, and it’s a P-Bandai release. I had several ideas planned for this build, but due to the lack of time, I just did a straight Out of Box (OOB) build.

Materials & methods:
No separate work in progress page this time, since it’s an OOB build. I did however add some extra weapons: A pair of pistols from a Build Divers kit, the large shield from GM Guard Custom, bazooka from RX-78. I also modified the beam spray gun into a double barrel variant.

The plastic color of this kit is slightly different from the original MSV boxart, so I painted the kit as follows:
Green parts: Khaki + IJA green
White parts: Light gull grey
Grey parts: Zeon MS Grey
Weapons: German grey + Neutral gray
Some parts are not color accurate, so some masking was required. In the interest of time, I skipped the weathering effects. I proceeded straight to panel lining, decals, and finally flat topcoat.

Here’s the array of weapons:

And some action poses:

This kit has an old school look to it, but make no mistake, it has modern engineering. The level of articulation on this kit is impressive, especially the waist. It has plenty of details as well. It can make a decent kneeling pose, but the verniers on the back of the legs were a slight hindrance. Another minor complaint is the lack of weapons. It only comes with a beam spray gun and the sniper rifle. That’s why I added all those extra weaponry.
I should add that I used the articulated hands from Hobby Base. With those, the GM Sniper Custom can hold my various Little Armory weapons.
So overall, even though this is a simple, no mods build, it was pretty fun. Getting the color scheme and decals to match the MSV aesthetic was also satisfying.
